Downtown Los Angeles at night - May 2012

I recently joined/met up with The Light Chasers meetup group to photograph Downtown Los Angeles at night. It was fun and I plan to visit Downtown Los Angeles again, but during the day next time. I also took some photos of a tunnel and Angels Flight right before meeting the group. For more photos, click here!

Cherry Blossom

One of my goals this year is to update more often. I've slacked off last year.

Here are some photos that I took recently. These were from a cherry blossom tree in front of my neighbor's house.

On an unrelated note, please visit and follow my foodie blog.

Karate Tournament February 2012

I went to a karate tournament yesterday at a YMCA in Upland, CA. The person, who hosted the tournament, also has classes there and he used to be a student for my instructor. I didn't compete, but here were some of the students from my class who competed and won trophies and medals. I took a lot of photos during the tournament and you can see more here!

Volunteering: Knitting Hats For Children with Cancer

I met up with the SoCal Volunteeers United meetup group last night and we made (knitted/crocheted) some hats. We don't yet know WHERE the hats will be going, but we do know that they will be given to children with cancer. There were nine volunteers (and a teacher who helped those who were new to knitting and crocheting), and I was the only who didn't need a loom (a circular frame). However, it was actually more time-consuming to make a hat free-hand style. I made a baby hat, but I made it halfway when we were done by the end of two hours! I think I will have to go back next week to finish what I started as I don't think the teacher will finish it and I'm the only person who can make a hat free hand.

On a unrelated note, I've updated my foodie blog so check it out! I also recently went to a photography workshop, so check out the photos here!

Volunteering At The O.C. Ronald McDonald House

I have to start making an effort to pay more attention to this blog for my personal photography. I feel so sad that I've abandoned it!

Anyway, I recently volunteered at the O.C. Ronald McDonald House with the Everything Under The Sun Is Charitable of OC (volunteering meetup group) and we made an Italian meals for the CHOC (Children's Hospital of Orange County) patients and families.

The OC Ronald McDonald House allows CHOC patients and familes to have a place to live when they're unable to go home for various reasons. This house was created so families didn't have to sleep on the couch/floor in the hospital while their family member(s) get treatment at the hospital. There are 40 rooms, each room can hold up to four people, so the house can host up to 80 people at one time. Sometimes patients/families come from out of state and even from othe countries to stay here for their family member!

Photo Collages

http://
I recently learned how to create photo collages with my images. I was inspired by my friend who liked creating them for her travel photos. Although I had to use a different photo editing software than my friend, I was able to find a tutorial video on how to create one. It was easy to follow and easy to create a photo collage. I was so excited when I finally learned and created one!

The first collage has images of my dog. Actually, this wasn't the first one that I made, however, the first one did have images of my dog and I thought that this one was better.
The second photo collage I made, I used images from when I visited Kogi BBQ food truck in Pomona while they were feeding their fans. I'm enjoying the fact that I can create photo collages now, but I hope the novelty doesn't wear off anytime soon.

Fireworks Fourth Of July 2011

I saw a firework show on Fourth Of July at Diamond Bar High School. I usually see the fireworks closer to home, but the city decided to make some budget cuts and the fireworks show wasn't in the budget. So I had to go to Diamond Bar just to see it.

The photo here isn't the finale of the show. In fact, the finale was really lame compared to other firework shows I had seen before. Click here for more photos from the show.
