Tree Trunks

I like looking at different tree trunks. They all look so different with how the bark peels off. The one kind of trees that I don't like to look at is a young one. They haven't been around to show their "age" and they haven't started "peeling" yet.

The tree in the photo below was blown down by strong winds sometime ago (maybe last year?)and the remaining tree had to be chopped down because the fallen part of the tree was blocking the walking trail. The base of the tree wasn't rooted out, so it remains in the ground. I still like how the bark was on the base of the tree trunk.
